There are overtones of national politics in the California Governor's race. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I agree. Arnold was a disgrace. He lost badly in the debate. BTW, I don't live in California and I was not familiar of Arianna before the debate, but for a woman and an independent at that, she carries one mean punch. Good for her. I also agree that the Green party guy did well and that Bustamante and McClintock were respectable too. IMO, ARnold was the big loser from this debate. I can see why that lying hypocrite did not want to do any of the other debates. His ratings would be down to zero by election if that was the case. LOL.

Arianna nailed Arnold the worst when she made people aware that Arnold's big after-school program hasn't helped a single kid anywhere,

She did no such thing.

The key here, the program is in place. The program gets funded once there is an increase in revenue of, I believe, 1.5 billion. So you cut spending, you cut taxes, and the program is funded. So, the bottom line is that children would be helped if the state weren't so mismanaged by the current administration.

...Arnold lost the debate.

You must have been watching a different debate. Arnold did fine. He certainly beat the expectation bar. I'm sure someone is doing a poll as we speak. If you are watching MSNBC, you know that Ventura is predisposed to be critical of Arnold. Chris Matthews is giving Arnold high marks.

Arianna was horrible, though it does appear that she is in line for a brief film career in Terminator 4.

Props to Arnold for running as a Republican. Big tent, dude.
