You notice that the father of the house is tyrannical, abusive and has indeed done time for murder. Also, the house is ramshackle and needs repair.
Nevertheless, if you burn down the house and kill the father (and a few other family members), while showering sh*t over the plot, do not expect a warm welcome from the surviving inhabitants... especially if you then plan on lingering, selling off the remaining family possessions to your chosen buyers and controlling the proceeds.

Likewise, since you have mocked their protests and destroyed the house, neighbours may not immediately be keen to pay for its rebuilding and for the removal of your sh*t from its site.

Yes, overall I'd say that a 'Pile of sh*t' is a very good analogy for the Iraq invasion...
