BW, this is very contradictory. The report said auto and aircraft production was down (or was that orders ?). And if computer shipments were also down, then who is ordering all the chips ? So maybe there is inconsistency in the data gathering. I'll look to see if there is a time series that shows monthly figures for both computers and chips. Possibly they are not generally in unison.

But aside from all that, PC unit shipments estimates were just raised a couple weeks ago to approx 10% increase for the quarter. So the new report is even more confusing.
