LATAM does what is competitive in: food and non-food agriculturals. China does the same with manufacturing. But go tell those champions of the "free" market the Europeans and the Americans.

This is only the beginning: Most of the plans have been already set since at least 13 years ago. Road across Amazonian jungle. Tunnel under the Andes and ship from Callao or any other Peruvian harbor.

We just need China to reach USD1 to USD2K income per capita.

jay, your are singling out China, and their policies are only part of the problem. How about Indonesia, India Pakistan to mention a few?

As I mentioned before minimum wage is one of the problem and in certain countries child labor is the other problem.

Most products have a relative low direct labor content today, but if child labor is cheaper than cost of capital invested in manufacturing equipment, we are facing a problem
