I will tell you what I used, although "exact" wouldn't be quite the right word for it. Solon can correct my proportions when he sees them and finishes laughing.

2 cans low sodium Campbells chicken broth
2 large onions
1 large knob garlic
maybe a dozen baby carrots
one large potato (I'll use two next time)
3 huge red peppers (I'd guess six or seven regular ones)
1 jalapeno
1 small can tomato paste
dash of salt
lotsa twists of the pepper mill
dash of cayenne
sour cream and chopped cilantro for garnish

I sauteed the onion, garlic and jalapeno in some olive oil. I cooked all the veggies separately in chicken broth in the microwave and then just threw everything together and let is steep for a while. Then I swept the kitchen floor. <g>
