Good post. The media certainly likes to quote these conversations out of context. Even so, the journalists asking the questions still tend to dance around the issues without quite pining the tail on the donkey. One of the most obvious questions would have been if Rove is one of those with access to the kind of information that was leaked. There doesn't appear to be much effort by the media to expose the obvious lies either. This incident was reported back in July, but the President doesn't have a clue about what's going on beyond what he reads in the paper? Give me a break!!! When the intelligence of the American people has been insulted to that degree, and an American President denies any responsibility for accountability, it strikes me as appropriate to just come out and say, "Scott, you keep using the term 'ridiculous', isn't what you're telling us ridiculous?". At the very least, have the guts to report the conversation in the context it was given. Such as, "The only inquiry made by the White House was Scott McClellan asked Rove if he did it. Rove said no and the matter has been dropped as far as the White House is concerned. The White house has no intention to pursue the matter, has made no effort to pursue the matter in the past several months, and believes any investigation into the matter should be handled in a partisan fashion.". What's so bleeding difficult about telling it like it is?
