What Brooks has done is try to take the most extreme examples and paint every one else in those colors.

We, of course, will never agree on this. Coulter is a rabble rouser with limited circulation. Krugman's weekly pounding of "Bush is a liar," is in the number one paper in the country. Brook's column could have well been titled, "David Brooks writes about Paul Krugman."

The corruption in the Clinton Admin, added to his unsavory personal habits really enraged the Republican Bulls. Bush has not done anything to deserve the same treatment. His personal life is impeccable. Dull, as a matter of fact. I am really upset with the fact that he does not read the papers and gets the news from his subordinates. His being a reformed drunk was never hidden, and does not affect what he is doing.

That he is dumb, a moron, a puppet, etc, is the kind of rhetoric that excites the faithful. But it doesn't pass the "smell test" with the voters and makes the Dems look bad.
