Quit exaggerating the successes in Iraq. The situation already HAS deteriorated and has been deteriorating since after the invasion. Our brave soldiers are doing what they can but it's a daunting task. Progress has been slow, casualties have been high and setbacks have been enormous. We have almost no help from the UN now. In fact they are pulling out not coming in. Plus we have no oil revenues yet to help pay for all of this. Iraq remains a seriously dangerous, expensive and troubled place. The word "morass" or "quagmire" is not inaccurate, though we hope that will change soon.

The pacification of Iraq is an enormous job, probably 5 times as big as the administration anticipated. We dont have enough troops to cover the country. There are huge sections of Iraq which are completely lawless.

If a CEO blundered this badly with corporate planning he'd be out on his butt. Even if they fix it in a year or two, the cost will be many times higher than was predicted by the Bushies and the casualties also alarmingly high. And we are just lucky so far that the enemy (whoever they are) hasn't successfully blown up an aircrart or bombed one of our barracks.

Also, how can the country be pacified when it still has open borders with Syria and Iran? Bring 'em on! is Bush's answer to that I guess.
