I'm in SV too. I think Lizzie is migrating to the far left wing of the Democratic Party. If she stops there.

Lizzie's views are echoed by about 30% of the Democratic party and some independents. They like Dean because he is anti-war and tells it like it is, a DC outsider. Clark hurts Dean a lot because he is the moderate alternative with military credentials to take out Bush successfully.

A man like Dean can only beat Bush if Bush is very weak, and Bush has way too much money to be that weak no matter how bad his record. That's why the DNC which partially controls the nominating process, and all the other candidates plus Clinton, Gore and whomever else will not let Dean get the prize. Always keep in mind, 37% of delegates are controlled by the party, and the party will be AGAINST Dean. Do the math. I say it equals Kerry-Clark. Or if Clark can be the clearly ahead, Clark-Kerry.

Grace Zaccardi (sp?) pointed out a very key issue wrt taxes, and California and people like me on another thread.

Here is the issue.

The "tax cut" mentality in California is one-sided. Long term property owners, (obviously Lazarus Long's situation) are reaping an incredible windfall- a bonanza really.

People like me, who are not long term property owners, or people like my employees who are under 35, do not reap anything of the sort. In fact, our high taxes actually SUBSIDIZE long term homeowners.

Because I pay through the nose, although I am mostly a fiscal conservative, I don't give a bleep about cutting spending. I just don't care. I pay the maximum any tax payer can ever pay and so do my employees. I don't want to "sacrifice" in the name of Lazarus Long or people like my former landlord who is some old, rather unintelligent woman who struck it rich by buying a house in CA in 1984 and living off the rent, of this one house, for the rest of her life.

If we had a situation where I did not feel like I was supporting and entire freeloader class of elderly non working people I would vote for tax cuts.
