Al, There is a strong argument for that in the case of Rwanda alone, for example. And we need leaders that work to make it better, not break it down further.

What for? It's a little naive to think that the U.N. is or should be capable of solving all of the world's problems.

But that wasn't my original point. My point was that it's pointless to blast Bush for being inconsistent with enforcing humanitarian ideals. Why not discount the humanitarian motives of Clinton when he went into Kosovo? Or that of the U.N., whose member nations demonstrate more self-interest than concern for the "collective"?
