Oh, right. His wife, also a Clintonista, sends Wilson, a partisan hack, long retired from the government and head-down in the Saudi trough, to muddy up the waters in Niger because they hate Bush and are opposed to the war on Iraq. Then he comes back and says that he spend eight days drinking sweet mint tea and found nothing. Then Novak, who also hates Bush and was opposed to the war on Iraq (you could check this out) publishes her name, for no perceptibly intelligent or useful reason. Then Wilson first claims that Rove "outed" his wife, and then retracts it. No, babykins. The real question is the one that Novak pretended to ask but fluffed. What the hell was Joseph C. Wilson, IV, a Clintonista and a partisan hack, doing in Niger, drinking sweetened mint tea for eight days while the rest of the world prepared for war? Who hired him, and why? What did they know, and when did they know it? P.S. His big claim to fame was that he was the last US diplomat to talk to Saddam Hussein. I'd love to be a bug on the wall to hear what April Glaspie has to say about this clown.

If Wilson were the Anti-Christ, it would still not excuse what was done to his wife, and by extension, the US. Do we even know what was done? Wilson says she was "outed" and by Karl Rove, but offers no evidence, and backs off the Rove accusation when challenged. Novak said he was not leaked to "intentionally", which I interpret to mean that he thinks that his leaker let it slip by accident, and that the CIA confirmed to him that she was an analyst. Another interpretation of the facts is that a rather open secret in Washington became a way open secret on the pages of Bob Novak. I don't know which explanation is true. But either seems equally plausible.
