I guarantee you DC doesn't spend as much on students as a good suburban school. Maybe they have to pay "combat duty" to teachers and more for security, but that's about it. One of DC's biggest problems is it isn't even allowed a congressman so gets no help from the Feds. No vote, no help. We should change that. I think you need to support your allegations with cites and statistics, other than DC doesn't have a congressman, which is a separate issue for good historical reason which I'm more than happy to discuss -- separate and apart from your other assertions. Right now, please provide support for the rest of your "shoot from the hip" post.

adti.net Euros are ahead of us on school choice. Even the religious aspect of it is shown to be blown way out of proportion. France has had choice since Napoleon made his deal with the Catholic Church.

Specifically, for the school year ending in June 2001, the District spent $10,852 per student, a mere $70 per student behind New York State, the national leader.
