Desperation is how the rightwingnuts are reacting. Anyone who has long known shrub to be a fool and incompetent is not desperate at all. It's heartening to see the neocon idots crumbling under the weight of their own stupidity. It shows that our Democracy doesn't long leave room for extremists if they happen to pry their way in to positions of importance.
