McClintock may very well beat Arnold now. He was picking up support right before the groping stories came out.

Next poll I predict will look like this, more or less:

Pro recall - 50%
Anti recall - 45%
Undecided - 5%

Arnold - 28%
McClintock - 22%
Bustamante - 25%
Undecided - 25%

Then the GOP will have been proven wrong for endorsing Arnold and McClintock could win or could have won. But if Arnold of McC wins they will be immediately recalled.

But wait, first those undecideds will have to decide. Many of them may throw in the towel out of nausea with the whole recal and stick with Davis. In which case it's all over.

The Dems may announce a second recall iniative before the election. That will make more people stay home or vote against the recall. No one wants a second recall.

Also, potentially more witnesses come out against Arnold. Maybe even for rape or attempted rape. I'm not sure he ever did that, but he came damn close with the women who told me about her encounter with him.

Bottomline: Arnold = big trouble and never should have run, especially as a Republican with Wilson and Bush behind him. And the recall never should have been hatched in the first place unless Davis had committed a proven crime.
