"He elicits excitement, and his record isn't one the Democrats can rake over too much."

Compare him to some of the folks in public service today that dare to call themselves Representatives and Senators.

No wonder the public is excited to see a young, brillant man achieve so much in such a short period of time! Go, Bobby Jindal!!

>>He had studied and written on health care spending and policy, but few were prepared for his next move. During a 45-minute talk with Foster, Jindal wowed Louisiana's new governor and was named the state's new secretary for health and hospitals, taking charge of the state's scandal-ridden Medicaid system, a department of 10,000 employees and an annual budget of $6 billion, about 40 percent of all state spending.

His shake-up was swift and far-reaching; he recovered more than $30 million in fraudulent payments to state psychiatric hospitals, cut spending by $1 billion and slashed the department's payroll by 1,000 jobs

incredible!

i hope this sentiment of this fellow mcginnis is right, Jindal sounds like a phenomenal person ...such amazing accomplishments

I think his momentum will continue to build over to the middle-of-the-road voter," said John Maginnis, who publishes an insiders' newsletter on Louisiana politics. "He elicits excitement, and his record isn't one the Democrats can rake over too much."

Bobby Jindal is in a run-off with Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, whose lunch he will eat during the upcoming campaign. She is not that bright, non-charismatic, and pretty much a non-entity as far as I'm concerned. Jindal could have faced a tougher opponent, but he lost by a hair.

I see big things for Bobby. If he wins the election, he will be tested as he tries to undo the Huey Long legacy that has been fatal to a state that should be in much, much better shape than it is.

Jindal is not a good old boy. Dealing with a legislature full of them--black and white--will be a challenge. It will be Jindal's true test. If he succeeds, I see national things for him, including mention that he is Presidential material.

I don't think his far-right positions will be a problem. I spoke last night with a local GOP doyennne who agrees with me that Jindal far-right posturings are simply calculated to get votes from Bubbas. Expect him to become more moderate after he is elected and starts to think more about his national prospects.
