Reagan and Wilson both raised taxes and hiked spending. Grey Davis just got robbed by the Texas energy thieves and hit with a dot-com collapse and Bush economy. Give Davis a break. NOBODY could have performed well these past three years, especially with Bush-Cheney, Enron and the RNC trying to ruin him the whole time. Remember the new RNC head Ed Gillespie was Enron's top hatchet man lobbyist hitting California with the gouging and covering it up, trying to blame it on Davis. They spend 5-10 million on that secret dishonest effort. And Gillespie was Bush's choice to head the RNC. All connected. Arnold too.
