And to top it off, it's simply untrue. Rambi always shows more intelligence than the other posters here, excluding you, K(I include myself in that "other" group for past posts.) She has both emotional intelligence, in knowing when NOT to post (even when she is right- she knows when it simply isn't worth it to write that last post), and she has intelligence in how she analyzes things. On top of her intelligence she is amazingly well educated. Anyone who can't see Rambi's intelligence in handling this issue (even if they disagreed with her) is simply too biased to evaluate anything properly. Rambi and I disagree over things, but always, always, I respect the intelligence behind her POV.

WHen I read the term "piling on", I had an immediate image of Ammo in the 7th grade playing his one and only year of football. Football in the Lone Star State is mandatory, a sort of Texas Bar Mitzvah; without the ritual you are never truly a man- certainly not a Texan. (Aside: Jewish sports joke- Bar Mizvah -the day when a Jewish boy comes to the realization that he is more likely to own a professional sports team than he is to play for one.)

Ammo was about 80 pounds and five feet tall, though not Jewish. Many of the boys here are held back a year in order to be bigger for sports, and many of his classmates were already the size of large, beef fed men. Ammo is small, but smart, and he figured out quickly that he could hold back for a second and then at the end of a play jump enthusiastically on the top of the pile, get up unharmed but grunting and making those male noises so everyone would know, yessir, he was right in there.
One day an opposing player broke loose with the ball and took off and the only player close by was Ammo who, having little choice, took off after him. He overtook the guy and tackled him but the guy kept running with little Ammo dragging behind. Luckily the extra Ammobaggage slowed the runner down enough for the bigger guys to take him down. We praised Ammo for doing the right thing, even if it hadn't exactly been the tackle of the year. But he realized that football was just not his thing, and became a swimmer.
In the same way, contact posting is not my thing; I hate mud and I wear little protective gear. But occasionally I respond if I see something that bothers me deeply- and personal comments about a person's character or personal life do that.

So piling on I deny- it had nothing to do with it, but I will plead guilty to buttinski if I have to plead to anything. I'm a mother, what can I say.

”This is a perfect example.”

Yes I agree.

You have validated the term “piling on.” Why? It is a negative term that is personal and characterizes the conduct or attitude of the poster. And so, by your usual yard stick this could be categorized as “personal attack” behavior.

Rambi validated the term “buttinski.” Same as above.

I used the phrase “did not show any intelligence regarding the issues”… which is not a personal insult about her IQ. It is a statement that is qualified by “regarding the issues.” Has Rambi studied the issues? It does not appear so. Isn’t that what we usually attribute to comments that are “intelligent with regard to a specific issue?” Having done so would probably lead to Has she followed the rational for me labeling you as living a sheltered life and why I consider your comment ironic. No. Has she done what I said she did … arrive to offer some warm cocoa to her friend on request. Most likely, that explains it.

And so it is, as you say a perfect example. I have confronted the issue and accurately identified thread conduct that was troubling to me. I confronted the issues directly.

Yes. I am apt to do this, especially when the conduct of the participants is seriously out of whack in regards to the topical issue.

And so, you have done what you are prone to do. You have made the most of it in your ax grinding efforts. Great opportunity for you and you exploited it. Very utilitarian of you.

Now, quite a bit of flaming nonsense has been spewed toward me. It has been filthy, unqualified, and disgusting. Didn’t show up on YOUR radar … Of course you have already explained your reasons for dismissing it. However, I figure it simply would not benefit you in anyway to do so.
