If it were, say, a prostate operation and the man asked that no female doctors or nurses be allowed to be in the operating room, I'm not sure the hospital would be so eager to comply with the request. Are you? No, I don't think they would be so eager, but I think that would be because the flip side is a recognized religious/cultural issue and the man would be merely goofy. As an aside, my father just dealt with some prostate problems and while they were working on him, they asked if a cluster of students could watch. He sheepishly said yes, but acknowledged afterwards that it turned out to be no big deal. He said the kids were very professional.
