(( They got a little ambitious in adding new programs like 1 teacher for every 5 students.

Outrageously wrong, Ish.))

I didn't know you lived in Central Illinois. A friend was telling me about his son in HS math class. 30 kids, one teacher and 5 assistants. His son came home and asked about doing square roots. Do you hit the symbol or put in the number first on the calculator?

He showed his son and then showed how to figure square roots with a pencil and paper. The kid let that one slip in class and my friend was called in for teaching his son something the other kids wouldn't know. The principal threatened to expel the kid if his father taught him something out of the curriculum again. That ain't the way school was when I grew up.
