I have already referred to the great deal that has been accomplished on behalf of our national security. Al Qaida is on the run. Iraq no longer constitutes a threat to its neighbors, or US strategic interests. We are in a better position to put diplomatic pressure on other rogue nations. We have gotten North Korea to deal with us in a multilateral context, so that those more immediately concerned with the situation might bring additional pressure to bear. We are dealing with Iran through the IAEA. Syria is terrified of an attack, and is trying to restrain its provocativeness. Saudi Arabia is more cooperative, now that we are not concerned with defending it against Iraq, but are able to put more pressure on it. In many ways, we are making significant progress in regard to national security...........
