The most amazing export Japan ever sent to this country was quality control; the Germans could not manage that and instead imported American standards. I read somewhere that Consumer Reports was thinking about downgrading mechanical reliability of Camrys somewhat because they concluded us Camry buyers were the types who would maintain our cars better than most people and that this skewed the statistics. Guess that explains why Jaguars are lousy vehicles--the drivers are all irresponsible and arrogant and don't bother to change their oil. <G>
