I am all for ameliorating the Palestinian problem, but many different approaches were tried and failed.

That's not true. Carter succeded in sponsoring a landmark agreement and Clinton came very close to another. Your president is afraid of failure he is not willing to try?

There is nothing the US can do to satisfy these people. It is not the Bush administration that is spreading pornography to ME, or just regular Hollywood stuff. Their ordinary people want it, the clerics are trying to prevent their people from being influence by it, but it is easier to attack "America" where the stuff gets produced rather than their own people, who want to obtain it.

Establishing bases in the ME is a far cry from "There is nothing the US can do to satisfy these people "... In other words we are doing a lot more than NOTHING.

The second issue is the Muslim fundamentalist culture of hatred of anything western. THe war in Iraq actually feeds this hatred and plays into its belief that a violent war of culture is required to keep the west from contaminating the ME with it's "moral corruption".

I am not sure it is Muslims are monolithic. Some are more "fundamentalist" in their belief, others are pragmatic.

Of the fundamentalist, only some are so to the point of being militant anti-western, willing to act on it, indoctrinating the young in that way of thinking.

This is not true. Many of the Muslims are fundamentalists and most of them are anti American. In fact, a recent poll done world wide shows that anti Americanism has rised to the highest level ever.

There is nothing the US can do to satisfy these people. It is not the Bush administration that is spreading pornography to ME, or just regular Hollywood stuff.

The right deludes itself by telling its believers that Hollywood is the reason why fundamentalist Muslims hate America and then turns around and puts on a rock station to entice young and middle income Muslims. Do you ever wonder why your leaders have the story going both ways?

In fact, its the American right that can't stomach Hollywood entertainment and looks for ways to blame them for our internal as well as external problems.......referring to Hollywood movies as porn because a breast may have been bared or a couple actually slept in the same bed and fukked through the nite. What a novel concept?

Anti Americanism is a direct result of our strong support of Israel at the expense of a Palestinian state, our interference in ME politics and the dominant presense in the region commanded by our corporations.

Adding to this general malaise, Bush's attack of Iraq has fueled the anger and heightened anti American tensions to a new high.

Their ordinary people want it, the clerics are trying to prevent their people from being influence by it, but it is easier to attack "America" where the stuff gets produced rather than their own people, who want to obtain it.

It is so easy to play this tape. And then we are shocked when American planes are hijacked and rammed into American office towers.

You can spin it the way that makes you most confortable but I will deal with truths.

As far as the militants, they will just have to be confronted. They can never be appeased.

Yes. We will be in a continual state of war for the next 100 years..........just like Israel.
