As you say, there is no point in claiming an exemption unless it is generally against the rules. Of course it was a founding assumption. He may have made the mistake of assuming everyone would get it without detailing it, especially since this emanated from the context of my talking about freedom of conscience as seeking exemption, but it was understood by me and him, and, I believe, karen........
