Kirk, in all fairness to NVLS and many stocks that have gained less from the October 2002 bottom it should be pointed out that NVLS like many of the other well run large cap semi equipment stocks did not fall as far as from the top in 2000. Stocks like NVLS are safer long term buy and hold stocks. They will never outperform even the average small fry from the bottom of any future cycle in my humble opinion but they carry a lot less risk if you are bad about market timing bottoms. RtS
