Everyone believes in Divine Presence, even those who say they don't.

Put a gun to an atheist's head and tell him your going to blow his brains out and I promise you he is praying to someone.

GZ,

I have encountered, many times, those that consider themselves super Christians, that have insisted that all who want redemption must have blind faith in relation to the teachings of the Bible. I was just indicating that blind faith is requested by many humans in God's name, and consider such a declaration as nothing more than another intrusion into faith by human frailty, and flaws. BTW, when I speak of human flaws, I include myself, in spades. For many years I walked the wrong line, and it took far too long for me to correct the mistakes I made, and in some cases, it was too late to atone and I regret that very much.

I used the word "bible" in reference to the modern day bible because that is all that is available these days. You are exactly right in the the hundreds, if not thousands, translations, and interpretations, of the bible have taken a terrible toll on what may have been represented in a more truthful manner.

Logic, in many cases, is not being used to refute the history of the Earth, and humanity, but to clarify it. In some cases, it proves the happening of a Biblical event, but sometimes, is in a rebuttal phase of certain measurements as explained in the Bible, such as the length of time it took for the Earth to form, become able to support life, and the way life originated on the planet. Yes, it is controversial to some, and accepted by others, which proves that none of us know the absolute truth of past, or future, events. We have our beliefs, and cling to them for moral support, which is a good thing, but we have no way of being sure of future events.

I do not understand how any person can come up with a theory the excludes a Divine Presence. No matter how the universe was formed, or how long it took, some omnipotent power had to have supplied the elements that caused the events of the beginning. Any other answer is foolish, IMO.
