<statements that US military equipment was always superior to Soviet equipment is hardly true>

I'm judging by results, not specs. The Soviet tanks may have had as much armor, and been as fast, and shot as far. They were never tested, fortunately, in Europe. But they were tested repeatedly in the Middle East, and the Israelis always beat them. Maybe Poles and Russians would have done better than Egyptians and Syrians. And maybe Americans would have done even better than Israelis. Who Knows?

This Bogeyman, this scary story about hordes of Soviet tanks dashing to Paris, sounds a lot like the Missile Gap, and the Communists In the State Department. It's a Ghost Story to scare Americans into waving the flag and voting for more missiles, more nukes.
