tejek,

re:There was good reason we decided to separate Church and State.

Hope they put that in the Iraqi constitution.

re:The OBLs.....yes. They see us as helping to perpetuate their real enemies..........the corrupted gov'ts like the theocracy that rules Saudi Arabia. With our bases in Saudi Arabia, they also see us as corrupting the holy soil of Mecca, the city where Muhammad was born. That should end when we close our Saudi bases.

Sad to say, I agree with OBL that the Saudi Government is corrupt beyond measure and that Wahabi weirdness they push is disgusting. As for being on their soil, I think that's BS, nice excuse, but he's losing his focus. If he achived his goal of throwing out the Saudi monarchy he would easily get the USA ejected from Saudi. I still think we should just leave and use those nifty new Iraqi bases near Syria, also moving us out of the higher profile Iraqi areas.

re:They would have been a better choice than Iraq.

I know or at least hope you're not serious - if we didn't have the legal basis to invade Iraq with 13+ resolutions I can barely understand the basis for invading Saudi. We have been rather mute about the 13 Saudi's on the planes.

re:but rather the interpretations made by people have made it more so.

I think that's always the case.
