*OT* I think the 2nd, possible winning scenario for Sox is this: checking out his stats this year (see you are rubbing off)...apparently if Burkett can survive the 1st inning or 2, he is often good until 5 or 6. I could see a scenario in which Burkett gets thru 4th or 5th with minimal damage...at that point, I think you gotta consider Wakefield for a couple innings (to get to Timlin)...

Wakefield, I believe, did that very thing back in the day (final game vs. Braves in 92...on 2 day/1 day rest)..

For Burkett, if he starts, its all about 1st couple innings..if Grady leaves him in after 5 MAX, he's a moron, IMO...Yankee hitters will adjust and get his 2nd/3rd time around...Yankees often don't start fast (run production) at home, so yeah, he does have a shot...but I'd still rather have Pedro, no matter what

And yeah, Nomar has got to wake up...he's a superstar (or was) and hard to believe he won't get some big hits (even if losses) in next game or 2...

I think it will go 7, and be close to the very end...

The game was definitely winnable... IMHO Mueller should have thrown home instead of first on Matsui's grounder... and Boone's 1st infield hit was misplayed as well. On the opposite side, Boone has been rock solid on defense so far...
