Quite some drop here. Any news?

On Grady, why not keep him? He seems to have done a good job motivating (I think), and he can't possibly be so stupid that he can't learn from that boneheaded blunder, can he (maybe I don't want to hear the answer)?

<<unbelievable Grady couldn't see that>>

as noted in a previous post, it is entirely unclear that Grady even watches the game. or maybe he has a memory malfunction like that guy in Memento; that would explain why he couldn't remember:

(a) Pedro got shelled in the 7th, and the only reason he got out of that inning alive is because Sorianno came up with one of his patented "i'll strike out on 3 balls well out of the strike zone" at bats;

(b) that Embree, Timlin and Williamson have given up a grand total of one run in the entire post-season;

(c) that Pedro has thrown a ton of pitches in the last month and a half, and was barely able to close out a game against the Devil Rays in September (his only complete game in recent memory).

it is absolutely unbelievable to me. for years we moan and cry about Mariano Rivera being the "difference maker" between the Yankees and Red Sox. yet for the last 2 1/2 weeks, Embree Timlin and Williamson have pitched every bit the equal of Mariano at his best; we finally have our own difference maker. and he doesn't get the ball.

if Grady isn't fired by noon today the Red Sox can have my season tickets back......

<<Young Theo has a lot to think about>>

Yes, he sure does. The guys HE went out and got (Walker, Millar, Ortiz, Timlin, Williamson) were the key cogs in this game and this series. And Grady f'cked it up. On a very personal level i'm sure he wants Grady out of there.
