You are correct. This is certainly a problem. What should we do, however, when China (according to the article) graduates 600,000 scientists and engineers each year? Should we give up the struggle and let China have all of the jobs that require education, or make sure our people are even better educated (and offer "better value" for the same job opening)?
Short of isolationism (proved not to really work), we have to compete with everyone in every field we choose to enter. In the end, however, doesn't everyone win this way?
