Hmm...Huh? Let's check this out...

EU-15 population on Jan 1st 2003 378M, acceding 10 states make 75M. That makes it a 20% increase. Just Poland alone has 36M, earning it a position six among 25 members by population. Right on its heels at #7 Rumania (down the road on the horizon) with 22M.

This is not small or medium-sized. Appropriate word would be fair-sized. Or hefty;)
