The care issue is nothing new. Do we manage the economics of our situation to the benefit of the healthy or do we care for every person with a soul to what ever extent we are able?... the rub in that question has to do with "soul."

Also not yet on the radar of public awareness is that patients older than, say 40, without family, particularly spouse, children, grandchildren, are not regarded as high-priority patients for heroic measures, organ transplants, etc. Statement without comment; I shall leave the intelligent and thoughtful members of this thread to draw their own conclusions.
