I thought Saturday is a deadline and even that is for dealers only....

For those who have October long call contracts you may want to watch the news Saturday. Remember, settlement doesn't come 'till Monday morning and you can request settlement on out of the money calls on Saturday, sometimes even Sunday.

Exactly why I bought my $14.00 covered calls back before close :-) I had not imagined I was getting those shares back, but I'm not disappointed I did.

Find a Barrons Sat. AM and look for their comments on AMD and Intel on either the first page story or the market story. I'm hoping for an update from Fred Hickey in Barrons.

"Well, neither did I. I still can't believe they took out the 2.6m call contracts at $14.00."

Yeah, what looked like a sure $1.00 in the AH, opened at $0.40 and trickled down to zero by the close of the day...I'm still wondering about the underlying mechanics, of how 31 million shares traded hands with zero positive net effect, given the outstanding reversal in AMD fortunes that was signaled so strongly by q3 results!

Ah well, AMD's trend is up and I do look forward to that car-delivered case of beer in a year!
