Larry silver can be used as a wood preservative too I believe.

I haven't seen any figures, but judging from what I see around me digital photography is completely supplanting film.

Another area where silver is coming into play is bacteriacide/disinfectant. Clifton, a small silver mining co started a company to develop such products in 1998:
