Good point, I would only add most of the film houses are owned by movie companies, so getting first run movies is a dream if you're a private movie house owner.

Oh, the tangled economic web we weave.

Taking your point of view for a moment, one could at least argue this is a potentially life saving industry, so gouging should be looked at differently.

I think you mean gouge. To scoop out or take excessive profits from a group. Like scalpers gouge ticket buyers.

Gauge is a measurement.

This from a guy who isn't college educated and lives in fly over land.
