Anyone can grab whatever "statistics" (which by the way yours do not qualify as) to present the image they like. Yours proves nothing, just as referencing Jerry Springer shows or the cases of incest, or the parents who kill their children, or even the gun murders in the US does not give the right image of US. Ultimately it matters not what you or I think about the lives of the women elsewhere; it only matters how satisfied they are with it. But since you have championed yourself, perhaps you can tell me how many of them you have befriended and if they have told you life there is hell as you indicate or if there are also pluses to go with it. talk about a sexist remark! is it any wonder you think life in the Middle East is better for females? Firstly, I did not say such a thing so don't expect me to defend a position I did not hold. Secondly, you are too rigid in your thinking to be able see the point. There is nothing sexist about what I said. Whether you like it or not, taking care of home and children is what many women around the world do. I am pretty sure some hate it, some love it, and most have their moments. Which means at least for those who do not hate it, life is much easier than if this "sexist" attitude did not exist. This may come as news to you, but real life is not a mathematical equation; being equal in life does not mean being identical. This is a point that is lost on some in America. ST PS Pakistan is not part of the middle east and neither are the many parts of Africa in which female genital mutilation is performed by Christians and Muslims alike. PPS Speaking of mutilation, outside of the middle east, US is the number one country in which baby boys are mutilated. We call that circumcision and I don't see it as being morally superior to the female genital mutilation. If you have boys of your own, did you mutilated them as such?
