So what?

Complicity in 9/11 was not why Saddam was removed....

Cakewalk...or...Quagmire?

Rumsfeld privately held that the war in Iraq would be a cakewalk. That's a far cry from imminent threat. The Administration thought we would be greeted as liberators.

While I'm sure that terrorist anger is caused by many actions by the US, Our half baked policy in Iraq is one of them, no doubt. Our flip flopping on the Iraq Iran war. That might be the cause of anger too. Supplying both sides with weapons and intelligence.

Gotta love that picture of Rummy shaking hands with Saddam. I guess that was when we were friends and selling them WMD.

Don't be silly. While Saddam was committing genocide, he would show dead and dying children to Arab news, and blame the deaths on UN Sanctions (and the USA). Saddam hoped that regular viewing of dead and dying Iraqi children - broadcasted throughout the Arab world, would turn public opinion, and force the UN and U.S. to lift Sanctions (or get the Saudi population so angry that foreign troops stationed in Saudi Arabia was "killing" Iraqi children, that the Government would be forced to ask the Americans to leave). Bin Laden, who was against American involvement in the original Gulf War, also blamed the United States for these deaths - and used Sanctions as a recruitment tool.

Bin Laden started attacking Americans after the Gulf War, when American troops didn't leave Saudi Arabia, but remained to keep Saddam "contained". Bin Laden chose Saudis to hijack those airliners, if he wanted, he could have chosen people from Syria, Egypt, Pakistan, the Philippines, Britan, or even Iraq to hijack those planes.

Iraq is the reason for the 9/11 attack, because bin Laden says so.
