no, have you?

I don't have relations with those people, nor would I visit the country - this of course doesn't mean I can't comment on how badly I think they treat women there

nor do I think we are partially responsible for what goes on there because the US has given the Saudi some support - Saudi Arabia and the US are in bed together for various reasons, but I don't think either country likes or respects the other

Iran

[they seem to have embassy hated syndrome]

Anyway, click on the photo of Shirin Ebadi to see the photos of Iranians welcoming her back. What you will notice is that there is at least as many men in the gathering as there are women. This goes to show that although officially she got the Nobel Peace award for defending women and children, men are equally proud of her work.

So it seems that at least in parts of the middle east, men are not afraid of women's rights but are rather supporters of it.

huh?

"officially she got the Nobel Peace award for defending women and children"

who do you think she was defending them from?

men/government in her country

"Then have you been actively writing to your congressman to cut relations with Saudi? I know I would not want to have relations with such people. The fact is though, that without US support the Saudi regime would not have remained in power. IMO, this makes us partially responsible for what goes on there."

That goes 10X's as far as Israel goes. Without US support Israel coulld not do all it's doing in name of defense. Financially it would also collapse. Saudi Arabia would not collapse financially without our support.
