'I however believe that the dictator is just an extreme case of bigger problems in the society'

'A people get the government they deserve' .... this is true to a point, no doubt, still i wonder if it's true completely and always ... if so, then what can you do but shrug and ignore all governments .... too fatalistic for me, i think in the case of certain dictators clever at consolidating their power and protecting themselves over the long term, it's not so true at all

It is suicide to show yourself thinking of changing the government of NK, for a citizen there .... no place is safe to start talking it over with your fellows .... inculcated from birth into the state religion [it is religion, it's made itself gods, dogma, scripture, all the trappings of religion], you don't even know of any alternatives, you can't conceive of anything so abstract as 'human rights', of which you've never heard anyway, so no matter ..... but little of this should reflect on the people, imho, because only a very few at the top of the hierarchy will have the opportunity to just draw their pistol and pop the bugger, and they're unlikely to because they get fed power and wealth, also they've been picked for their quality of staying subordinate

How do you get any sense of alternatives through to the NK people? ... very tough ... did you see the fotos of 'mass games' in the link i posted, an hundred thousand slaves doing precise choreography for a bowl of rice a day, if they get that .... scarey stuff, all to reinforce the personality-cult rule under which they starve, it's pretty clear they know of nothing else, have no access to information, their lives are controlled right down to their thoughts .... there is an elite that knows better, but they are probably few in number, and can't or won't do anything

Good point about the mongols, yes, but how long did that take, how many slaves got worked to death or beheaded for suspicion of unclean thought ..... long time, and quite a few, probably eh .... it's not right, it is our duty to do what we can, also it is in our interest to make sure this dickhead doesn't get nuclear weapons, but we definitely need to be careful what we do .... also, do it together as a quorum of democracies instead of one drugstore cowboy who happens to hold a big stick at the moment mouthing it up for the Rest of Us [which he hasn't done since the 'axis of evil' rant, give him credit for that] .... and, consult fully with China on the matter, they're the ones holding something of power over this Kim ..... maybe that's how it goes - the chinese work themselves up to a reasonable fascimile of human rights, and they say to Kim smarten up buddy, it's your turn
