When was the last time you saw Intel give out units? I don't remember Intel giving CPU units in the last few years (~ 5 years).

In absence of an absolute number, it all boils down to interpreting the "spin". The language on market share is very precise and it is pretty easy to tell how things are being spun. Getting absolute numbers is another story.
