Many people think it was the intent of the Bush administration to justify the war by any and all means possible. The accusation I heard was that they knew it was false but they also knew that the vote on the war would happen before it became public knowledge that it was false. After that, who cares, we got the vote.

Well, I am not prepared to label all Dems as AntiAmerican. To me most people end up in a political party by Birth, not Choice. Most people are reluctant to change and it takes an earth shaking moment to encourage it. For some, like you and I the AWFUL dishonesties of the Clinton Administration (similar to Grants in percentage of crooks in the Administration) SHOULD have been enough, but Clinton was lucky to be riding the coattails of the Reagan revolution and in spite of himself couldnt screw THAT up until the very end of his administration. Now we are JUST beginning to recover from the effects of his errors and if Dean should get elected with his nutty ideas I would expect we would PLUNGE back into a severe recession OR WORSE. Anyhow, to get back to the point, I think most people just TUNE OUT the rhetoric, but I wonder whether the average Democrat is smart enough to realize their Leaders HAVE to attack the President cause they have NO PLAN of their own to present. jdn
