Ok LL, you got me. Heck, the truth is I don't remember if it was the first 100K posts, or if was between 75-200K or between 30-70K or between 150K and 250K when the thread was an excellent source of information and dialogue, but I was there and it did exist. The point I was half-hazardly trying to make is that broad generalizations about the thread give a misleading impression that it was always that way. It wasn't, there are long thoughtful and interesting discussions contained on that thread, in the same way they are being created here today. But, the main point I was trying to make is it's easy to be complacent and critical of other threads and not believe the same thing can happen to the one your posting on. I've seen it happen more times than I care to remember on SI. There are people who (for lack of better words), operate on the fringe of posting etiquette, who's main purpose seems to to be the creation of an ugly environment and little else. Sorry, but I intend this to be my last post on the subject. Seems to me talking about the GWB thread does very little to lift the discussion or dialogue on this thread.
