“That’s bizarre,” he said. It is President Bush’s positions on Israel that Jewish voters care about, he added.

That's an interesting statement. Just wanted to highlight it.

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) said he felt he did not have a right to his point of view as a student at Washington & Lee University and the University of South Carolina Law School

This is so odd. I know W&L well, as it is my hometown and my husband is a seven year Washington and Lee man (undergrad in Political Philosophy and then law). He certainly had no problems having his own point of view and it was a very conservative one! There was a very strong Young Republicans organization, and if anything, I would have classified W&L as a conservative school, known for producing lawyers, doctors and business men. I see Wilson graduated in 1969, when W&L was still an all men's school and the students wore khakis, blazers and topsiders to class. Makes me wonder if he isn't grandstanding a bit. Had he gone to Berkeley, I might buy it!
