Wellstone/Mondale got creamed by the GOP even with the sympathy vote after his tragic death. Angry liberal Wellstone types are the LAST types we want getting anywhere near the nomnination. Guaranteed defeat to Bush. Maybe a landslide. Dean would win a few states in New England, Washington DC and that's about it. Maybe he could win New York and California by a nose, but he'd still lose by a landslide. he need to take away Bush's pro-military vote, not guarantee he hangs onto it.
