Is that a good reason? <g> All this fussing is just gut reaction, speculation, redirected outrage. We don't know enough yet to answer questions, only to ask them. I'm looking forward to the answers to those questions. There may be good answers and there may not be. With regard to the jihad thing, I've already spoken to that. I wouldn't think confusion would be a factor. It could have been his using a false quote, as you assume. Or it could easily have been not a quote at all but merely a cute way of saying "holy war," the cuteness being indicated by the quotes, just like we do all the time when we're posting, for example, "yeah, Bush's withdrawing those foreign aid funds sure was 'compasionate.'" I'm not saying that's what he was doing, only that we don't know enough and there are plausible explanations that are innocent. Reading my example, you readily realize that I'm not saying that I found Bush's action compassionate nor would you think I was quoting anyone. The author was, at best, sloppy. Whether it was anything worse than that, I don't know yet.If the person were Wiccan and the media plastered his/her speech from a Wiccan full moon gathering all over the front pages, you bet I would be just as surprised to see so many Americans willing to condemn the person. That wasn't the question I posed. You turned it around. What I questioned was whether the people who are supporting Boykin actively such as you would be expending all that energy posting to support the Wiccan. I think not. Would you have taken the initiative to post in support of him?
