That's BS. The NRA wants it EASY for anyone (at least anyone white) to get a gun. Half the militia nuts are dangerous people yet the NRA totally supports their loading up with automatic assault rifles. Doesn't sound very anti-criminal to me. Remember Timothy McVeigh?

Wayne, Re: NRA and Gun Control -- I'm wondering if you've heard anything about how the NRA is reacting to Howard Dean's stand on gun control? As I understand it, Dean has been an NRA member for decades, and is in favor of local control of gun ownership, with the federal government taking a back seat on the issue. This must represent something of a conundrum for the NRA who would seemingly rather reflexively endorse an ideologue like George Bush rather than a thinking ally like Howard Dean. Comments welcomed!
