I think there are plenty of reasons to think the leg may be sort of stuck. I forget sometimes how much younger than me you are. Maybe that's the difference. I remember when people thought that blacks could not learn. Now we have black astronauts. It is clear now that blacks have the ability do anything whites can do. No one could miss that lesson. It took affirmative action to overcome the prejudice but now it's clear that there is nothing inferior about blacks. That's the leg up I had in mind, that and role models. Blacks now have the same pursuit of happiness as everyone else. No one is guaranteed happiness or an equivalent wage. Micromanaging to ensure equality of results is dangerous.
