I believe that he is the type of problem that I referred to in my posts that were never addressed formally. I tried to take a rational approach and feel that SI, if it truly wishes to live up to its image of being a cut above Yahooliganism, should shut down threads that encourage hatred based on race, religion or beliefs. In the internet world, it is easy for cowardly self-possessed bigots to post their hatred and to encourage behavior against others who do not share their view of religion or whose original or race is different from the majority. If I were the owner of this message board, I would not want to have an association with that type of character. If you review his posts, other than a defense of Kobe Bryant for rather dubious reasons, he only posts hatred and bigotry, never adds to the discussion. When challenged he runs away and hides, then comes back with a totally off topic statement of bigotry. In fact, his posts on this very thread are off topic and mindless rants, albeit nothing like the totally off the wall ramblings exhibited by him on the threads he regularly crawls. Ironic - it is - that criticism of this individual through satire can lead to a TOU suspension. I'm not sure if this is the message that SI wishes to provide for an image. Allowing a bigot's rant, but suspending someone who "bashes" a bigot, sends a message, intentional or not, a message with which the owner has to decide whether or not he wishes to convey.
