The State Department compiles very good human rights reports on every country every year, including a section on religious freedom. I can vouch for the reports since I was involved in drafting bits and pieces of many over the years, in my former career.

Go to state.gov and there should be a good link to the human rights reports.

I never served in the Muslim world unless Bosnia counts (which IMHO it doesn't but that's another story). I don't claim to be an expert on what goes on there. I know enough to say that is not a monolithic group by any means. The trend in the US to lump all Muslims and Islamic countries into one heap is worrisome; "cultural wars" are just an excuse for ignorance and bigotry to prevail.

Christians and Muslims have coexisted for 2000 years, and that won't change much in the future. Like US politics, we need a new push to get people to work together across religions and ideologies.

I don't see that in the US now, and it's sad.
