RE:"I agree with your principal point. Vietnam was a mistake. A mistake that should have tought this nation a lasting lesson. And yet here we are...back at it, invading a country that has not done a thing to us. And the justification based on a pack of lies. With our kids doing the dirty work again and dying for questionable ideologies, with politicians that have miscalculated before and will again, just as they did on Vietman, no matter what side of the political spectrum they come from. They screw up and innocent people die or a scarred for life."

I'm surprised a man your age could have the opinions you have but that's another story.

Yeah, it was a mistake but we were paranoid about the spread of communism. Remember the fear of the domino effect.
Now after all the waste in VietNam that country is emerging from communism and into capitalism after all.

Iraq is also a mistake but perhaps a necessity. A necessity because of all the mistakes the last few administrations made not to mention our monsterous love of middle east oil and the SUVs that suck it up. I mean whos really financing all this terrorism?
While we're there I'm for am all out cleaning up of the mess NOT to be tempered by liberal whining.

I'm not really a nation building favorite but I'm not for letting other nations of the world infiltrate our country and us ending up either fighting their battles for them or letting every Tom, Dick and Harry in to potentially blow us up either.

Liberals "love free for alls", open borders, big social programs, big foreign handouts, big taxes etc. then complain when we get are butts in a crack. Our society changes. We are overcrowded etc. Thus facilitating getting our butts in a crack. Feeds on itself.

If your going to clean up the middle east do it right. Even Bush is doing it half a$$ed. Liberals would just tell everyone to be nice and forget about it and it comes back later only worse.

Another problem is that most all of the middle eastern problem is nothing more than a holy war. We are naive to think it can be fixed by a conventional war.
